Ryan Reynolds says he and Rob McElhenney don't make 'football decisions' at Wrexham

Ryan Reynolds insists he and his Wrexham ownership partner Rob McElhenney are not involved in the Championship club's “football decisions”.

Under Hollywood ownership, Wrexham have enjoyed a meteoric rise, becoming the first team in the history of England's top five divisions to achieve three consecutive promotions.

Reynolds and McElhenney were at SToK Cae Ras on Saturday to see Wrexham play their first home game in English football's Second Division since May 1982.

However, there was no Hollywood finale as West Brom won 3-2, leaving the Red Dragons without points in the Championship after two matches.

“We have a very hands-off management style,” Deadpool star Reynolds told Sky Sports.

“Our goal is to listen, learn, and tell the story. And I think that's a great position for any ownership group to be in, just to be there to support and tell the story.

“We don't make football decisions. And actually, that helps a lot – we can build relationships with the Wrexham players when a lot of people in our position can't.
