Ruben Amorim admits having four players wanting to leave Manchester United is not a good situation

Ruben Amorim has admitted that having four players looking to leave Manchester United is far from ideal, but stresses that “anything is possible” if the sides fail to reach a compromise.

The Red Devils have until September 1 to complete their summer squad changes, with talks over potential signings currently taking precedence over discussions of possible departures.

Marcus Rashford is the only member of the old attacking unit to leave the squad, with Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia all continuing to train separately from the main group.

There is interest in the quartet, but no decisions have been made on their futures, with potential buyers appearing to be assessing United's willingness to negotiate as the deadline approaches.

“I understand that it is not easy for the players in such an environment, but their desire to continue their careers in other teams is obvious,” Amorim said. “That is a fact.

We strive to find a balance of interests, so I focus on working with those who I believe will be the foundation of the future.

The rest are preparing for a new stage in other clubs.

“After the transfer window closes, the picture will change. We will have to work with the current squad and make plans. Life is unpredictable.”

Roma have shown interest in Sancho, with United placing an offer. The club value Garnacho at £50m, with Chelsea monitoring his deal.

Real Betis are keen to extend Anthony's loan after a successful season, while Malasia is being monitored by several European teams.

Rasmus Højlund, who was not part of the aforementioned four, was not included in the squad for the match against Arsenal (0:1), remaining on the bench in the pre-season match against Fiorentina.

The Danish forward has been linked with interest from Milan, Serie A champions Napoli and United's next opponents Fulham.

Asked about Højlund's mood, Amorim said: “As professionals, we all have to wait until the transfer period is over. Then the situation will become clearer.”

United have been considering midfielder Carlos Baleba as a possible transfer target but are not planning any moves following Brighton's announcement that they intend to keep the player.

The Manchester club are also exploring options to strengthen their goalkeeping line. After Altay Bayindyr's mistake in the match against Arsenal, rumours about a possible transfer of Senne Lammens from Antwerp have intensified.

According to sources, no specific steps are expected yet, but the scenario cannot be ruled out.

Andre Onana missed the opening Premier League match despite recovering from a hamstring injury but remains in the squad.

“Onana is ready to play, as he was last week. We will make a decision on the starting goalkeeper before the game,” Amorim explained.

“Lica [Lisandro Martinez] and Nous [Mazraoui] won't play. The rest are in top form.”
