In a press conference held today in anticipation of the PRO14 clash on Saturday against Glasgow, herring read out a statement on behalf of the players in the province.

“It is with great sadness that the players and staff learned of this result,” he said.

A couple of contracts were withdrawn IRFU and Ulster Rugby on Saturday as a result of their justification for the rape charges last month.

Jackson said he was “deeply disappointed” by agreement the outcome of the review, but he acknowledged that his behavior was “very far from the values expected for me as an international player, a role model for Rugby and as a son and brother.”

Jackson, 26, and Olding, 25, was unanimously acquitted at Belfast crown court last month of rape of the same woman at the party in the South Jackson Belfast home in June 2016. Jackson was found not guilty of sexual harassment.

Yesterday, the chief Executive of Ulster Rugby Shane Logan said that he “could not envisage” Jackson or Olding games for Ulster and Ireland again.

Former Ireland captain O’driscoll said this morning that the IRFU were “left with no choice but to break off relations with Stuart and paddy”.
