Marcus Rashford says he feels 'at home' at Barcelona after loan ends

Marcus Rashford has said Barcelona is “like home” after signing loan from the La Liga champions and has refrained from criticising Manchester United.

Rashford became the first of five players keen to leave United to find a way out of Old Trafford, completing the move he had been dreaming of since January when he instead signed on loan at Aston Villa until the end of the season.

The Barcelona deal includes an option for a future permanent contract. The clause is reportedly worth €35m (£30.3m) and PA understands the terms of the deal will see Barcelona cover Rashford's wages for the current season.

“I'm looking for the biggest trophies and I feel like Barcelona is a huge club in the world of football, so it's the perfect place,” Rashford said at a press conference.

“Did you see the team last season? They have a young, ambitious team, and I want to bring my qualities, my personality, improve the team and help them win…

“(It was) not difficult. I was very clear about my preferences from the start. Actually, from around January. In January, things didn't go well, so I signed on loan at Aston Villa and had a good period there. I am very grateful for the opportunity to play there.
