Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri were looking to get the most out of their McLarens during Friday's second practice.

Piastri's time of 1:14.916 was three-tenths quicker than Norris' pole position in Budapest last year, underlining the incredible levels of performance they have been consistently delivering in the Constructors' Championship and which they have been consistently delivering in 2025.

The best of the other drivers was Ferrari, with Charles Leclerc finishing third, four tenths of a second behind Piastri. Lewis Hamilton was fourth, but three tenths of a second behind his team-mate.

Max Verstappen's quest for a fifth successive world title looks set to hit another snag as a tough weekend for Red Bull gets even tougher, with the Dutchman finishing 12th and team-mate Yuki Tsunoda 19th.

Verstappen, who on Thursday finally confirmed his intention to stay with Red Bull for the 2026 season, already trails Piastri by 81 points in the drivers' standings.
