FAI Cup: Sligo knock out Bohs, Cork City beat Waterford

Sligo Rovers secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Irish Men's Cup with victory over Bohemians on Friday night.

Owen Elding's second-half goal at Dalymount Park sent John Russell's side into the quarter-finals.

In the other third round match on Friday, Cork City continued their strong form with a 2-1 home win against Munster's Waterford.

Galway United secured a convincing 4-0 win over local rivals Salthill Devon.

Finn Harps won 3-1 against ten-man Bray Wanderers, while Kerry won 2-0 against nine-man Cobh Ramblers.

The third round of the men's FAI Cup will take place on Saturday, a repeat of last year's final.

Reigning holders Drogheda United travel to Derry City for an 8pm kick-off at the Brandywell Stadium.

Reigning FIFA Cup holders Shelbourne were knocked out of the FAI Women's Cup last night.

The Athlone Town to Peamount journey starts at 5am.
