With Philippe Coutinho, Paulinho and Yerry Mina already on the books, something will have to give. The expectation was the former Cologne boss was an interim option after the sacking of Peter Bosz. However, that may not be the case after all. “He has not lost a game in the Bundesliga. If we continue not to lose any, we would be pretty stupid if we did not continue our relationship. We are happy because he is an exceptionally good coach,” Watzke said. (DW)

Though talk of a move to Real Madrid is on the backburner today, his father and agent has hit out at criticism of his son on Instagram. “In a war there are those who feed on the victories and those who, like vultures, feed on the carcasses of the vanquished,” he posted. “My son has been fighting since he was a child, he always fights loyally, always avoiding the vultures, always stronger. We lost a battle but for the war we will see because it will last as long as we are on the ground.” (L’Equipe)
