Sunderland sealed the final play-off place in the Championship with a 3-0 win at Preston after Millwall were denied by a dramatic 4-3 home defeat to Blackburn in a thrilling climax to the season.

On a topsy-turvy afternoon in the race for the final two play-off spots, Millwall led 3-1 as they looked on course for the win they needed to secure their spot in the top six. However, Blackburn turned the game on its head in the second half to stun The Den and win 4-3 to leave the home side eighth in the table.

Blackburn themselves finished seventh, missing out on the play-offs on goal difference.
It was Sunderland who capitalised with a 3-0 victory at Preston to move into the final play-off spot.
They joined Coventry, who grabbed the point they needed to finish fifth with a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough.
