Speed and power in Haaland style

Although his goalscoring is modest compared to other players, Cesko is a rare striker with similar physical attributes to Haaland. At 190cm, he is similarly tall and just as fast.

His physique allows him to act as a target man, holding up the ball, bringing teammates into play and creating opportunities for long balls, crosses and set pieces.

Like Haaland, he combines these qualities with sudden speed.

Last season in the Bundesliga, Seshko's top speed was 35.69 km/h, which put him in 26th place among the 492 players who took part in the tournament. In the previous season, he was even higher – 15th.

His pace has certainly played a significant part in his appeal to Newcastle, who could see him as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, although it is Manchester United who have added more explosiveness to their attacks after signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Threat of a rapid breakthrough

Cesko's speed is capable of stretching and destabilising defences. It is also a devastating weapon in breakaways and transitions, something he has demonstrated throughout his time in Germany.

RB Leipzig are known as one of the most effective counter-attacking teams in the country: since last season, the club has scored a total of 17 goals on the counter-attack, the second most in the Bundesliga behind Eintracht Frankfurt, and Seshko has played a significant role in that.

His five goals from fast attacks over the last two Bundesliga seasons put him third in the division behind his RB Leipzig teammate Lois Openda and former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmouche, who have six each.
