Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt train as Manchester United prepare for trip to Bilbao

Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt have been training ahead of Manchester United's crucial Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao.

Ruben Amorim's side are preparing for Thursday's first leg at the San Mamés stadium, where the Red Devils hope to return on May 21 for the final against Tottenham or Bodø/Glimt.

United are full of enthusiasm ahead of their season-defining semi-final against Athletic Bilbao, with Diallo and De Ligt seen training with team-mates at Carrington on Wednesday morning.

The former has been out since February with an ankle ligament injury, forcing him to return to action this season.

De Ligt has missed a month with his injury and has not featured in United's last six matches in all competitions.

It is unclear whether they will travel with the squad to Bilbao after Wednesday's training session, which Aiden Haven missed and Toby Collier spent time doing individual exercises.

Youngsters Bendito Mantato, Sekou Kone and Jaidan Camason were among those taking part in the training session, as was 17-year-old Chido Obi, who is ineligible to play in the Europa League because he was not included in the United squad.

Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee have been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Diogo Dalot could also miss the rest of the campaign with a calf problem.

Manuel Ugarte took part in the training session and is due to attend a pre-match preview of Thursday's semi-final with the Amorim coach at the San Mames stadium.
