The meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky took place at the White House. Kyiv anticipated an affirmative resolution regarding the dispatch of long-range Tomahawk missiles, but the American chief has not yet acted on this.
Earlier in October, Trump mentioned that he had “partially” determined to ship American missiles to Ukraine, stating it would hinge on Kyiv’s utilization of the arms. Subsequently, on October 13, the US president expressed that he would initially confer about the Tomahawk transfer with autocrat Vladimir Putin , characterizing them as “remarkable and greatly aggressive weapons,” and on October 16, subsequent to a phone discussion with the autocrat, he reconsidered providing the missiles , explaining that the Americans also required them.
Also, Trump stated yesterday that he and Putin will convene for a second time, this time in Budapest. The White House leader also reiterated Putin’s discussion with the Ukrainian president, which, according to his team, the very reality of the phone exchange between the leaders of the US and Russia caught him off guard, given that he was en route to Washington at that time.
