President Donald Trump posted on social media the "peace letter" from first lady Melania Trump that was personally delivered to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska on Friday.
The first lady expresses that "it is time" to safeguard children and future generations across the globe.
"Every child harbors the same quiet aspirations within their hearts, whether they are born into a nation’s rustic landscapes or a grand urban center. They yearn for love, opportunities, and protection from harm," Melania Trump's letter commences.
The first lady asserts that all children come into the world innocent, irrespective of their nationality, political beliefs, or ideologies.

"A straightforward yet significant notion, Mr. Putin, as I believe you would concur, is that each generation’s offspring start their lives with an inherent purity — an innocence that transcends geography, governance, and beliefs," she stated.
"In our current world, some children are compelled to maintain a quiet laughter, untainted by the shadows surrounding them — a silent resistance against the forces that threaten to seize their futures," she continued.
The first lady informs the Russian president that safeguarding children "will accomplish more than merely benefiting Russia" and "will aid humanity as a whole."
"Such a courageous concept surpasses all human divisions, and you, Mr. Putin, are capable of realizing this vision with a simple signature today," she concluded.
"It is time," she signed off.
