In a lengthy phone discussion with ABC News, President Donald Trump on Tuesday asserted that "we now have a total shift in power" in Iran, mentioning his government is currently engaging in talks with Iranian officials who are "more understanding" and "far more sensible."
While the administration has remained fairly quiet concerning the individuals involved on the Iranian aspect of discussions, Trump indicated his administration is conversing with the nation's Parliament President Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Ghalibaf has been mocking the president via social media, yet Trump conveyed that the fresh leadership surpasses what Iran previously possessed.

"Now we are dealing with a new set of people, who are in command, though they appear more understanding and, in my view, significantly more reasonable," he stated.
Ghalibaf is recognized as a conservative figure with close links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran.
On Sunday, he shared a message on X criticizing Trump regarding his communication tactics during the situation, implying the president aimed to manipulate the market.
"Attention: Pre-market so-called 'news' or 'Truth' often serves as a prelude to profit-taking. Essentially, it functions as a contrary signal," he mentioned. "Take the opposite action: If they promote it, sell it short. If they discard it, take a long position. Anticipate something tomorrow? You understand the approach."
Trump dismissed Ghalibaf's remarks.

"I believe if you observe, he has significantly softened his stance. He is behaving much better," he remarked.
Trump, nevertheless, also delivered what seemed to be a direct warning aimed specifically at Ghalibaf.
"We are aware of his whereabouts. That’s how I’ll phrase it," he stated.
Trump implied that the thriving stock exchange ahead of the conflict rendered it "an opportune moment to proceed."
"Crude values are poised to decline. The equity market is poised to ascend. We attained 50,000 [Dow Jones Industrial average] and 7,000 on the S&P. I then pondered, well, ‘Perhaps this presents a favorable occasion to act.’"
The Dow Jones Industrial Average has decreased by more than 3,000 points, and the S&P has receded by almost 500 points since the commencement of the war.

Global crude rates were approximately $117 per barrel on Tuesday, marking an over 50% surge in price from pre-war baselines.
Trump remarked that he is in discussions about acquiring Iran’s oil but refrained from offering additional specifics.
The president was equally reserved regarding any military strategies for Cuba, regarding which he has also made threats in recent weeks.
"I anticipate, methodically, you should somewhat finalize your operations in Iran initially," he articulated.
