The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, signed a resolution to resume live broadcasts of parliamentary sessions. The first broadcast is scheduled for September 16 .

This was announced by the head of the Committee on Freedom of Speech, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn.

“Now it's official: we succeeded. And this is not only our merit, but also yours – those who came out with posters, wrote comments, who demanded greater openness of the parliament. This is a joint victory,” he noted.

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak also left his comment, ironically noting: “We haven't decriminalized pornography yet, but we have returned the Rada broadcasts. Now, in addition to the marathon, viewers will also have such content on TV.”

Recall that open broadcasts of the Council's meetings were suspended after the start of the large-scale Russian invasion for security reasons.

Previously, the public organization Transparency International Ukraine emphasized that another problem with the transparency of the work of the legislative body of Ukraine remains – closed meetings of the VRU committees, at which laws are prepared for consideration.
