If the pressure on Moscow is maintained, the recent sanctions alone will result in annual losses of at least $50 billion for Russia, as stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky following a discussion with the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, Oleg Ivashchenko.

“Nevertheless, more sanctions are expected from our allies, and we are already receiving indications of this. The volume of oil provisions from Arab nations to the global market can certainly counteract any destabilization and price surges in the market that worry the Russians,” the President remarked.

Moreover, there has been an establishment of data exchange with principal nations concerning Russian persons and schemes that warrant sanctions. Zelensky also underscored the necessity to enforce sanctions against the shadow fleet.

Zelensky further conveyed that Ivashchenko addressed China’s attitude and strategies regarding the war in Ukraine. According to him, it is crucial for Beijing to become involved in efforts to halt the conflict.

After several months of delay, Trump has ultimately imposed sanctions on the Kremlin. However, this isn’t a geopolitical triumph or a deliberate strategy, but instead a reaction to his own annoyance. Will this impulsive attack pose a genuine challenge for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin? Oleg Shamshur discussed Trump’s motivations, hazards, and fallacies in the piece “ Trump punishes Putin, but not for the sake of Ukraine ”.
