A NASA spacecraft near the Moon has captured the crash site of a Japanese company's lunar module.
NASA released the images on Friday, two weeks after the iSpace lander collided with the moon.
The images show a dark spot indicating where the lander, known as Resilience, and its mini-rover crashed into Mare Frigoris, or the Sea of Cold, a volcanic region in the far north of the Moon.
The faint glow around the area was caused by lunar dust kicked up by the impact.
The scene was captured last week by NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The incident was the second failure in two years for Tokyo-based ispace, which is set to hold a press conference next week to discuss the reasons for the failure of its latest mission, launched from Cape Canaveral in January.
