The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has remanded in custody Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, a detective with the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, the Anti-Corruption Center reported. It was indicated that in this way, Judge Oleh Bilotserkovets satisfied the prosecutor's office's request.

“The term of imprisonment was extended until October 21. The defense requested any measure not related to detention,” the CPC added.

They reminded us that Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, like his father, has been behind bars for over 50 days.

It should be noted that the court session began the day before. However, as “ Suspilne ” reported, it was postponed to September 12 because the NABU detective's lawyers did not have time to arrive at the session. According to Magamedrasulov, the defense lawyers received a notice of the session only 2 hours before it began.

While prosecutors yesterday claimed that they were trying to ensure the presence of lawyers and serve them with a motion for an extension, the prosecution believes that the NABU detective's lawyers are deliberately delaying the case, understanding that the term of the preventive measure is expiring.

Recall that the head of the NABU interregional detective department, Ruslan Maghamedrasulov, was detained by the SBU on July 21 on suspicion of treason and sent to custody without bail. The SBU accuses him and his father of collaborating with the Republic of Dagestan and even published an audio recording as evidence. However, on the noise-cleared audio track, it is clearly heard that the conversation between father and son was about Uzbekistan .

The detective himself says that he was monitored for a long time , including during his rehabilitation in Spain.

Maghamedrasulov's detention preceded an initiative by deputies to reduce the powers of the NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. The corresponding law, which subordinated them to the Prosecutor General, was adopted the next day , but under public pressure, President Zelensky was forced to submit a bill that repealed this initiative and restored the institutional independence of anti-corruption bodies.

In an interview with ZN.UA, the head of the SAPO, Oleksandr Klymenko, noted that pressure is currently being exerted on certain people to testify that there is Russian influence in the NABU. After the searches of the bureau's employees, all investigations have effectively stopped for a while, as many have become very cautious. Read more about this in the first and second parts of Klymenko's interview with the editor of the domestic policy department, Inna Vedernikova .
