The EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaia Kallas, journeyed to Kyiv on Monday morning, October 13.
“Ukrainians are inspiring to the world with their bravery. Their steadfastness requires our complete backing,” she communicated on X, including an image from Kyiv’s railway station.
Kallas specified that she visited Kyiv to discuss monetary and defense assistance, security for Ukraine’s energy resources, and ensuring Russia answers for its wartime atrocities.
Previously, news sources reported that Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy grid, especially its gas system, would influence the European energy market, since Ukraine will require increased gas imports from neighboring Western countries.
Bloomberg reports that Russian attacks within the Poltava and Kharkiv regions have destroyed nearly 60% of Ukraine’s gas generating potential, compelling the nation to depend anew on gas imports to make it through the upcoming winter season.
