I share my impressions and recommendations – what's new is worth paying attention to and what you can skip.
One Whole (2025)
A couple has been living together for several years. Their relationship becomes routine. But after moving to a small town, they notice that something strange is happening to them – they find it physically difficult to bear the absence of each other. They are drawn to each other with a frightening force. They literally and figuratively become one.
A very unusual body horror. At times it was disgusting to watch, but fascinating.
Home (2025)
The hero gets a job as a caretaker at a nursing home. In this seemingly simple job, he encounters very strange things. As his suspicions grow, he uncovers a terrible secret that could cost him his life.
It sounds intriguing, but I wasn't into it. A horror that failed to impress.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
A game of nostalgia, a continuation of the famous horror of our childhood. A group of friends become the unwitting culprits of a car accident that kills a person. They decide not to tell anyone about it, and the rich father of one of them does everything to keep quiet about what happened. A year later, one of the girls is getting married, and while opening gifts at her bachelorette party, she discovers a note – “I know what you did last summer.”
To watch it once is fine. To give it a high rating is not.
Wednesday (TV series, season 2)
Wednesday returns to the academy and uses her psychic abilities to try to prevent her vision of her friend's death.
And I liked it! I watched it with great pleasure, on a par with the first season. I was hooked on the plot twist, I mentally applauded the writers. I sincerely felt sorry for Wednesday and her family. I will wait for the third season.
Weapons (2025)
One night in a small town, 17 third-grade students simultaneously ran away from home and disappeared without a trace. They all studied in the same class, and apart from them, only one boy disappeared. For a month, the police have not been able to find any leads, and the distraught parents believe that the new class teacher is somehow connected to this.
An unusual horror that has its own twist. I loved it.
Thursday Murder Club (2025)
Residents of an elite nursing home spend their Thursdays investigating old unsolved murders and take on a new medical examiner. When a crime occurs within the walls of the nursing home, and its very existence is threatened, a group of restless retirees can't stay away and decide to take on the investigation.
A full-fledged detective story in which the plot develops very slowly. I don't recommend it for action fans. Not everyone will like it, but once in a while, only for fans of detective stories.
