Washington (Sputnik) – us aircraft giant Boeing in a statement said that the new tariff measures proposed by the United States and the government of China can harm the entire aerospace industry.
“While the two governments were set out positions that could harm the global aerospace industry, nor even introduced these strict measures”, – said on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, the press Secretary of the White house Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a briefing for journalists that the new tariffs on Chinese goods could enter into force in a few months. On Tuesday, the office of the U.S. trade representative said the United States does to impose additional duties on about 1,300 Chinese goods, including aerospace industry of China industry and information technology. The Chinese responded with their counter-measures.
China’s Ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai said that the new proposal to impose tariffs on Chinese goods is another Washington “a step in the wrong direction,” adding that if any adverse action was taken such steps will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the economies of other countries, since all countries in the modern world is interconnected.
Earlier, trump signed a Memorandum on introduction of a new $ 60 billion in duties on imports from China, which, according to the White house was developed to offset the advantages that China gained through their unfair trade practices. Beijing responded to the new measures through the introduction of import duties on American products.
