The Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, last evening instructed the establishment of a committee for organizing purposes, tasked with preparing for a gathering between the US President, Donald Trump, and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, in Budapest, although the precise date is not yet known. During a radio address on the local magyarnemzet.hu , he mentioned that the groundwork has already commenced.
“There are numerous locations beyond Europe where such a conference could be arranged, however, apart from Budapest, there is no similar locale in Europe,” Orban stated, further commenting that Hungary, which lately dispatched its reconnaissance UAVs over Transcarpathia, stands as the sole peace-loving nation “that has openly, loudly, and vigorously championed peace for the previous three years.”
The summit will be preceded by an encounter between the Russian and US Foreign Ministers, Sergei Lavrov and Mark Rubio, in the coming week. The leaders might engage in discussions a week thereafter.
“They (Trump and Putin — ed.) determined that the two foreign ministers would endeavor to resolve the outstanding matters within a week, and then, a week later, they would have the possibility to arrive here, in Budapest,” Orban conveyed.
