According to information from Axios, Zelensky is looking to secure an accord with Trump regarding explicit US determinations concerning which armament systems they are prepared to supply, potentially including Tomahawk missiles.
The news outlet further states that Zelenskyy, after arriving in Washington on Thursday afternoon, expressed considerable optimism concerning the upcoming discussion; however, he was taken aback by Trump’s dialogue with Putin and the declaration of their future assembly in Budapest.
It’s important to highlight that following his conversation with Putin, the US president suggested he wouldn’t provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles, remarking that “the US has its own requirements for them”. He also stated that the dialogue with the Russian leader was “very positive,” and Putin didn’t favor the notion of furnishing Ukraine with cruise missiles.
