President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, verified the commencement of a military administration in Odesa during his nightly speech on October 14. The nation’s leader mentioned that he addressed the circumstances in frontline settlements and in the country’s south, notably in Odesa.
“Odesa requires enhanced safeguarding and increased assistance. This can be guaranteed via the establishment of a military administration, given that several security matters within the city have lacked proper consideration. All impactful resolutions will be enacted,” Zelensky underscored.
The President further stated that the director of the Odesa Military Administration will be designated in the coming days.
As reported by the press, Serhiy Lysak, the chief of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, is anticipated to be assigned to this role.
In the past, Zelensky had already directed the exploration of the subject of forming a military-civilian administration in Odesa to bolster safety and municipal governance.
It was also unveiled that Odesa’s Mayor, Gennady Trukhanov, is facing the revocation of his Ukrainian nationality due to his possession of a Russian passport.
