Since October 1, card transfers have become even more popular: what is it about and should we be afraid of it?

Among the changes that have taken place in Ukraine since October are new rules for card transfers, under which monitoring will be even stricter. Now, financial control over the transactions of Ukrainians will be carried out more promptly and quickly.

This was announced by the rector of the International Institute of Business, Oleksandr Savchenko, on the air of the Kyiv24 TV channel. According to him, now the entire chain of financial transfers will be monitored – from the sender to the recipient and where the latter will spend the money next.

According to Oleksandr Savchenko, such monitoring was carried out before, but it took place in the format of a request and the state receiving information from banks, which was time-consuming, but now it will take place automatically.

At the same time, the expert emphasized that senders of card transfers for small amounts — up to 30 thousand hryvnias per month — should not be afraid, such payments will not come under the attention of financial control.

At the same time, as one of the Ukrainian banks explained to “FACTS”, the NBU's resolution on the introduction of open banking, developed back in May, has not been adopted, so in fact no changes have occurred. However, even their adoption does not essentially change anything for consumers.

Previously, “FACTS” wrote about what open banking is and how it will affect the financial market.
