Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal denied that Ukraine has problems with mobilization. In an interview with Sky News, he stated that over the past year the mobilization level has been “absolutely stable” and has a “trend towards growth.”
“We are mobilizing the necessary number of personnel to cover all our losses and form small reserves,” Shmyhal emphasized.
Shmyhal also stated that the Russians can cover their losses due to the level of mobilization, despite the fact that their level of losses is five times higher than the Ukrainian side.
“It's not a problem for them that they've lost a million people since the war began, half of whom have died. They continue to shoot, burn their people in the fire of war, not counting how many they've lost. So this is a challenge and this is a problem,” he added.
Earlier, the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov, expressed the opinion that the Russian Federation may announce a second wave of mobilization. At the same time, the intelligence chief emphasized that a new mobilization will inevitably cause discontent in Russian society.
