© Belta Belarusian state channels have distributed over 50 videos in support of the pro-Russian politician and against the government of Maia Sandu over the summer.
From June to August 2025, five state-run television channels in Belarus distributed at least 54 videos on YouTube dedicated to Moldova , the Center for Strategic Communications reported .
All materials had the same rhetoric: support for pro-Russian politician Igor Dodon and criticism of the government of Moldovan President Maia Sandu.
According to FactCheck.BY monitoring data , these videos have collectively garnered over 3.8 million views. The most widespread distribution occurred on July 12–13, when Dodon visited Minsk: 20 videos were released in just two days.
These videos promoted theses about “election fraud”, “external management of Moldova by the EU and NATO”, “rising tariffs due to European integration” and “Dodon as the only alternative”. As noted by the Center, the campaign was coordinated between the Belarusian media CTVBY, ONT, BelTA and NEWS.BY. Its main goal is to undermine trust in the electoral process and strengthen the positions of pro-Russian forces in Moldova.
Recently, Maia Sandu said that a victory for pro-Russian parties in parliamentary elections could undo the country's gains of recent years, warning that Moldova risks becoming a tool of Moscow in its war against Ukraine.
