Moses Itauma scores a crushing first-round knockout victory over Dillian Whyte

Moses Ithauma beat Dillian Whyte with a first-round knockout in an all-British heavyweight clash in Riyadh.

At the age of 20, the athlete extended his unblemished record to 13 professional fights, sending veteran White to the floor of the ring in just two minutes.

Whyte, 37, who was previously the WBC interim heavyweight champion, was given no chance to relax as Itauma, who had been waiting for his opponent to come out due to a delay, immediately began to attack.

The Chatham Itauma southpaw tested Whyte with a series of early jabs before more accurate punching combinations sent him back to the ropes.

A strong right hook sent White to the canvas, and although he was able to get up, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight with just over a minute left in the first round.

After another impressive performance, Itauma will be increasingly calling for the opportunity to fight for the world title in 2026.

“That's what I've been preparing for for 12 or 13 weeks,” Itauma told BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.

“I worked hard for this and I didn’t want it to end in the first round.

“I've put on a show for you, so now the question is: who's next?

“I’m not going to call out (undisputed heavyweight champion) (Oleksandr) Usyk because I don’t think I deserve that opportunity, but I want to fight the guys who deserve it.”

“So maybe Agit Kabayel, maybe Joseph Parker. Maybe someone like that.

“(But) now I'm going to rest and then maybe go back to the gym.”
