Darwin Nunez's unsuccessful spell at Liverpool looks set to come to an end as the striker is set to join Al-Hilal.
The Saudi Pro League club have long been interested in the Uruguayan forward, who was targeted by Al Nasr in January. A £60m bid was rejected because the Reds were unwilling to part with the player in the midst of a successful Premier League season.
Nunez's move is likely to fetch an initial £46million, with further funds to be added once the final details are ironed out, according to PA news agency.
Liverpool have given the 26-year-old striker's representatives permission to negotiate with Al-Hilal (AC Milan were interested but were unable to compete with offers from the Saudis) in a bid to reach an agreement before discussions between the clubs begin.
Talks between Al Hilal and Liverpool are ongoing but Nunez's three-year spell at Anfield, where he scored 40 goals in 143 appearances but became increasingly inconsistent, appears to be coming to an end.
His departure will take the club's summer sales revenue to almost £200m and further transfers are likely to follow as midfielder Harvey Elliott, valued at £40m-plus, is in talks with RB Leipzig over a move.
It will also create space in an attacking line that has already been strengthened by the arrival of Ugo Ekitiike as part of an investment worth around £300m, as well as the number nine shirt.
Liverpool continue to show interest in Newcastle's Alexander Isak after having a £110m bid rejected last week.
The Sweden international has been asked to train separately from the squad after asking for his leave, missing the pre-season tour in the Far East last month and spending the week working on his fitness at his former club Real Sociedad.
