After three decades of operations in Poland, the factory is still one of the key plants on the national and global map of the company. Every day, 3 million children around the world use diapers manufactured in Targówek. This is where the brand's greatest innovations begin their lives and engineers and specialists from factories producing Pampers diapers around the world learn about the latest technologies. It is also a modern workplace of equal opportunities.
The Pampers factory in Targówek is P&G's first production plant and one of seven business units that the corporation has located in Poland. In addition to the Warsaw diaper factory, the company also has a production plant in Łódź, where Gillette razors and blades are manufactured, and a factory in Aleksandrów Łódzki, which produces cosmetics such as Old Spice and Olay. The Global IT Center, Supply Chain Management Center, distribution center and headquarters complement the scale of the corporation's investment in the country, which amounts to over a billion dollars.
The Pampers factory holds a special place on the company map not only on a national or European scale, but even globally. Its leading position is primarily determined by innovation and uniqueness – both in terms of the product portfolio, scale and production standards, as well as qualified staff of engineers and managers. Confirmation of its status is, among others, the prestigious title of the Factory of the Future, which it received in 2022.
Diapers from Targówek are used by children of all ages and in different parts of the world.
Currently, the factory produces the full range of Pampers diapers. The range of products includes Pampers Premium Care, Active Baby, Pampers diaper pants, and Splashers diapers for swimming. The factory is the only one in the world to produce some of them.
Its products are distributed to over 130 retail chains in nearly 40 countries worldwide. Every fourth Pampers diaper produced in Europe comes from this factory.
Importantly, the factory is the only P&G plant producing diapers for children of different ages, in all available sizes: from -3 for premature babies to size 8 Ninjamas for older children who need diapers due to health requirements.
Pampers diapers for premature babies? Only from Targówek
The Targówek plant is the only one in the world that produces Pampers Preemie Protection diapers for premature babies. The smallest diaper produced here is designed for babies weighing less than 500g! This specialist product, which meets the special needs of premature babies (e.g. a contoured insert, a fastener facilitating free access to medical equipment or an extremely delicate material), is the result of cooperation between Pampers experts and nurses from Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). The company provides these diapers free of charge to neonatal departments in maternity and pediatric hospitals in many countries. In Poland alone, P&G has already provided over 2.5 million pieces!
Modern production standards – diapers under the watchful eye of cameras
The Targówek factory is one of the most modern plants of the concern. The latest generation of digital solutions, such as sensors, vision systems and “smart solutions” allow for meticulous monitoring of each diaper that comes off the line. This is necessary to ensure the highest quality and safety of the product that is to reach the consumer.
Importantly, the Warsaw P&G plant plays a unique role as a lighthouse for the rest of the group's factories in terms of introducing new technologies for diaper production. This title means that this is where the company tests and improves new technological solutions, and then implements them in Pampers factories around the world, including training engineers in their use.
The factory also runs a number of projects that enable it to develop in a sustainable manner. All production waste is processed or recycled. It also introduces innovative solutions that reduce energy consumption, including recovering heat from machines and using it to heat production halls.
An inspiring workplace for specialists in many fields
It is not only a technologically advanced production plant, but also a modern workplace, providing an attractive career for employees with different profiles. Engineers, managers, technicians and specialists from many other fields who are looking for a dynamic work environment and the possibility of using the latest technologies find interesting development prospects here. The factory employees use, among others, machine learning technology and artificial intelligence.
The factory is connected to Targówek and actively supports the local community. Its employees are involved in many projects that provide help to those in need in the neighborhood. For over 25 years, they have been running the Christmas campaign “Choinka Marzeń”, within which they have already fulfilled the Christmas dreams of several thousand of the youngest residents.
The plant, like all P&G units, is an equal opportunity workplace. Women make up over 40% of the management staff, and in the 30 years of its existence, it has been managed by women three times.
All this means that the average length of service at the factory in Targówek exceeds 20 years.
30 years of development, conquering new markets and developing careers
During its 30-year presence in Targówek, the factory has repeatedly modernized its production lines, introducing hundreds of revolutionary solutions and innovative products. Today, it is one of the key Pampers factories in the world, and the diapers produced there are used by millions of children around the world. It has also created a workplace for specialists in many fields and supports the local community.
