Gary Lineker's The Rest Is Football podcast moves to DAZN following his BBC exit

Following his departure from the BBC, Gary Lineker has moved his podcast to the DAZN platform.

The popular programme The Rest Is Football, hosted by Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, will add footage from the Club World Cup to its video version as part of a new partnership.

The deal with DAZN, which holds the rights to the revamped FIFA tournament scheduled for this summer in the US, comes after the podcast was removed from the BBC's audio streaming service last week following Lineker's departure from the corporation.

Lineker, 64, stepped down early as presenter after a social media row erupted over his post about Zionism featuring an image of a rat, historically seen as an anti-Semitic slur.

Lineker, who apologised, will no longer cover the 2026 World Cup or next season's FA Cup for the BBC. His final appearance on Match of the Day is scheduled for May 25.

Pete Oliver, DAZN's Chief Executive Officer, Emerging Markets, said: “The Rest Is Football is must-watch and must-listen programming that offers fans insight, entertainment and personality, and this partnership is a great way to bring the FIFA Club World Cup closer to these audiences.

“It's about connecting world football with voices that fans trust and love, and presenting the tournament in a new, exciting and authentically British light.”
