China is supplying equipment, chemicals, gunpowder and spare parts to enterprises of the Russian arms industry; cooperation of 20 factories with the Chinese side has been confirmed, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (FSIS) Oleh Ivashchenko told the Ukrinform news agency on Monday.
“There is information that China supplies machinery, specialist chemicals, gunpowder and components directly to enterprises for military purposes. We have confirmed data on 20 Russian plants,” the head of SZRU noted.
According to Ivashchenko, at least five cases of cooperation with China in the aviation industry were recorded in 2024-2025 – this concerns equipment, spare parts, documentation. “In six cases, these were large supplies of specialized chemicals,” he added.

“At the beginning of 2025, 80 percent of critical electronics used in Russian drones came from China. This was due to false markings, name fraud, and the activities of intermediary companies through which everything necessary for the production of microelectronics flows,” Ivashchenko said.
In mid-May, the British weekly “Economist” assessed that Chinese leader Xi Jinping has his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in his fist. “In its entire history, Russia has never been as dependent on China as it is now,” the weekly wrote. (PAP)
