GAA: Cork beat Waterford to reach first Munster final in seven years

Cork have reached the Munster Hurling Championship final for the first time in seven years.

Goals from Brian Hayes and Patrick Horgan gave the Rebels a 2-25 to 1-22 win over Waterford at Pearc Uí Chaoimh.

Next month the team travel to the Gaelic Grounds to face reigning champions Limerick in the provincial final.

Limerick won by 16 points when the teams played at the same stadium last week and Cork manager Pat Ryan said they would need to improve their performance if they were to beat John Keeley's side.

Clare ended their campaign with a 3-20 to 0-24 win over Limerick this afternoon.

The All-Ireland champions join Waterford in being eliminated at the round-robin stage, while Tipperary progress to the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-finals.

Galway face Kilkenny in the Leinster Hurling Championship final.
