Honor is developing its first humanoid robot

The robot will be the company's debut in the humanoid machine segment. Honor claims to be the first smartphone manufacturer to enter this direction, although other technology companies are also working on similar solutions.

Along with the robot, the company plans to demonstrate new developments in the field of artificial intelligence, united by the Robot Phone concept – the integration of AI agents into smartphones and other devices in the ecosystem.

Humanoid robots are becoming one of the most dynamic areas in the technology industry. They have previously been demonstrated outside the lab — for example, during China's most popular TV show, robots performed complex stunts and interacted with humans on stage.

Tesla also plans to start selling humanoid Optimus robots in 2027, and Airbus is testing UBTech robots to automate aircraft assembly.

Analysts consider the humanoid robotics market to be one of the fastest growing. In 2025, its volume was estimated at approximately $2.9 billion, and by 2030 it could reach $4–18 billion. In the long term, they predict over $38 billion by 2035 and potentially trillions of dollars by mid-century.

At the same time, the industry is gradually moving from the creation of experimental prototypes to mass production, and the main growth factors are the development of generative AI, production automation, and labor shortages.

Honor is a former subsidiary of Huawei, from which it was separated in 2020. The company has also reported preparations for a public offering of shares, but the exact timing of the IPO has not yet been announced.
