Currently, there are already a number of joint ventures for the production of Ukrainian drones in Europe, 10 of which are scheduled to open in 2026.

Main theses:

  • In 2026, it is planned to open 10 joint ventures for the production of Ukrainian drones in Europe.
  • Partnerships between Ukrainian and European companies will facilitate the production of drones for Ukrainian and allied forces.

Ukraine to open 10 joint ventures for drone production in Europe

According to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, 10 joint ventures for the production of Ukrainian drones are planned to be opened in 2026. He said this at the presentation of the first manufactured drone at the Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI) plant in Germany.

This is a joint venture between the German Quantum Systems and the Ukrainian Frontline Robotics. We have considered their cooperation path in more detail separately, but it is worth mentioning that the start of production was announced less than 2 months after the joint company was revealed.

Also on February 13, 2026, at the International Security Conference in Munich, Ukrainian TAF Industries and German Wingcopter signed a memorandum of cooperation. The latter specializes in fully electric UAVs and improving the logistics of urgent cargo.

At the same time, it became known about a similar partnership between Airlogix, known for the “Gor” drone, and German Auterion, which deals with software for drones. And both parties will combine their technologies to produce UAVs with artificial intelligence for Ukraine and its allies.

In all these cases, the German company provides industrial infrastructure and administrative support. At the same time, the Ukrainian side will receive a production license and experience. Thus, it should be possible to scale up the production of drones for the Defense Forces.

This immediately brings to mind the well-known production of drones by UkrSpecSystems in the UK, including at least the Shark reconnaissance and Octopus anti-aircraft drones. At the same time, this is the company's own factory in another country, but it operates through cooperation between the countries.

At the same time, Ukrainian Skyeton, together with British Prevail Partners, created a joint venture, Skyeton Prevail Solutions, which is intended for the production and promotion of the Raybird (ACS-3) UAV.

This is quite an interesting point, because we are talking about a potential order by the UK for this drone to replace its Watchkeeper. And the Ukrainian drone has already been to training exercises, which brings the potential contract closer.

Also, back in September 2025, it was reported that the production of Ukrainian UAVs was being launched in Denmark. At that time, it was not specified who it was, but around the same time, information appeared about the opening of Danish facilities by the Fire Point company, which is known for its long-range FP-1 drones and FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles, which it plans to manufacture abroad.

There is also an interesting story with the Danish-Ukrainian MITS Industries, which includes NRC specialist Tencore, PEP manufacturer Infozahyst, EW developer and supplier Unwave, and an unnamed UAV manufacturer. Although there is no direct mention of the deployment of factories in Denmark, it is quite likely that this is also happening.

The list provided here is not complete and most likely there are partnerships that have not yet been publicly reported. However, even so, there are quite good prospects for the development of the domestic defense industry.
