Apple has just unveiled iOS 26, a new operating system for iPhones and more, which introduces many new features. This software will be made available as an update in September 2025.
Apple representatives have just presented new operating systems for their brand's devices. The name of this software is iOS 26, because the corporation decided to change the numbering and, after last year's iOS 18 for iPhones, to equalize them for all devices.
Refreshed interface
This time, Apple has opted for quite large changes, which are visible immediately after turning on the device. First of all, the user interface has been refreshed , with the most new features since iOS 7 from 2013. Many glass-effect transparencies have been added, as well as new bars in applications and more rounded animations – reports Interia.pl.

There are also two new applications – Games and Preview . Many innovative functions can also be found in other applications, e.g. in Messages you can set backgrounds in chats. Automatic translations will also appear. In the Phone, Hold Assist will appear. There is also no shortage of novelties based on artificial intelligence, including the expanded Visual Intelligence functionality.
Not for every Apple device
Currently, iOS 26 is in beta testing, and from July onwards everyone will be able to test it. The final update will not be ready until September . However, it will not reach all devices. According to Telepolis, iPhone models from the 11 model upwards, including the refurbished iPhone SE 2, have a chance, as well as:
- iPad Air (M2)
- iPad Air 3rd generation (and newer)
- iPad (A16)
- iPad 8th generation (and newer)
- iPad mini (A17 Pro)
- iPad mini 5th generation (and newer)
In turn, the latest watchOS will be available on Apple Watches from Series 6 upwards and on Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation.
In the case of Apple computers, the update will only apply to the following models:
- MacBook Air with Apple Silicon (2020 and newer)
- MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon (2020 and newer)
- MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019)
- MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020)
- iMac (2020 and newer)
- Mac mini (2020 and newer)
- Mac Studio (2022 and later)
- Mac Pro (2019 and newer)
