Wrexham have set a new transfer record by signing Ipswich striker Nathan Broadhead for up to £10m.
The 27-year-old Wales international has signed a four-year deal with SToK Cae Ras, which is subject to international clearance.
The Red Dragons had been monitoring him for several weeks and the process was accelerated after Ipswich signed Chuba Akpom from Ajax.
Broadhead is in the final year of his contract at Ipswich, having joined from Everton in January 2023 on a three-and-a-half-year deal for £1.5m.
He noted: “I have been striving for this for a long time and am glad to become part of the club.
“Faith will be our number one priority this season. We want everyone in North Wales to
came to SToK Cae Ras and saw that we believe in it.”
Bangor-born Broadhead played in Wrexham's youth academy before joining Everton aged 10.
Wrexham have improved their transfer record on several occasions since Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club in 2021.
Lewis O'Brien signed for Nottingham Forest last month in a £3m deal. The midfielder is one of several Sky Bet Championship newcomers on whom Wrexham have spent heavily ahead of their first campaign in English football's second tier in 43 years.
Broadhead became Wrexham's ninth signing since the club's relegation from League One last season.
He has made 14 appearances for Wales, scoring two goals, and will join his international team-mates Danny Ward and Kieffer Moore at SToK Cae Ras.
