All 12 Scottish Premiership teams returned from the winter break at the weekend as Celtic’s hard-fought win kept them five points clear of Rangers in the title race.

The Hoops dominate the latest Team of the Week with three players included after they narrowly beat Ross County 1-0, with one Staggies player also making the best XI.

Rangers kept up the pressure with a 1-0 win at St Mirren and have two players included.

Two Hearts players feature after they beat Aberdeen 2-0, while Dundee also take two places following their 4-1 victory at Livingston.

St Johnstone grabbed the final spot after they drew 1-1 at home to Motherwell.

Alexandro Bernabei made 10 tackles in Celtic’s narrow 1-0 win over Ross County on Saturday and that has contributed to his WhoScored.com rating of 7.99. The Argentinian also got forward well when he won the ball, completing three dribbles, as Celtic earned a fifth successive league triumph.

4. Alistair Johnston (Celtic) – 8.19 rating

Celtic’s match-winner against Ross County, Alistair Johnston bagged his first league goal of the campaign in the first minute on home turf on Saturday, netting with his only shot. The 25-year-old also completed two dribbles and made one key pass, one tackle and one interception on his way to a WhoScored.com rating of 8.19.

3. John Souttar (Rangers) – 8.30 rating

Rangers had to dig deep to secure all the spoils in Saturday’s lunchtime win at St Mirren and while Cyriel Dessers scored what proved to be the winning goal early in the first half, John Souttar’s solid defensive display saw him land the WhoScored.com player-of-the-match award with a rating of 8.30. The 27-year-old won 10 aerial duels and chipped in with nine clearances, three interceptions and two tackles to cap his best rated display of the season.

2. George Wickens (Ross County) – 8.42 rating

Ross County may have fallen to defeat at Celtic on Saturday but it would have been far worse for the Staggies without George Wickens’ heroics between the sticks in Glasgow. The 22-year-old made a total of six saves at Celtic Park, including a first-half penalty stop to deny Luis Palma, to land a WhoScored.com rating of 8.42.

1. Michael Mellon (Dundee) – 8.55

Highlights of the Scottish Premiership match between Livingston and Dundee

Dundee’s super-sub Michael Mellon is the Scottish Premiership player of the week having earned a WhoScored.com rating of 8.55. With the game finely poised, Mellon was introduced on the hour mark at Livingston and made an immediate impact, assisting Luke McCowan to double Dundee’s advantage a minute after his introduction. The 20-year-old provided his second assist of the game in 79th minute before rounding off the victory with a goal of his own late on from respective returns of two key passes and two shots.
