Lewis Hamilton suffered another disappointment in Belgium, qualifying 16th.

Lewis Hamilton's dreadful weekend took another nightmare turn when he qualified 16th at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Hamilton, who started from 18th position and finished 15th in the sprint race earlier at Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, is out of Q1 of the main race on Sunday after stewards disallowed his fastest lap.

Hamilton believed his results were enough to progress to the next round of qualifying when he posted the seventh fastest time.

However, Hamilton's lap was cancelled shortly afterwards as it was ruled that he had driven all four wheels of his Ferrari off the track at Raidillon.

That dropped Hamilton to 16th place, where he now faces the start of the 13th round of the campaign on Sunday.

“Everything OK?” Hamilton asked over the radio. “The track is restricted,” replied Hamilton's race engineer, Riccardo Adami.

“Am I out?” Hamilton asked. “Lap time cancelled, 16th,” came the reply.

There was no reaction from the 40-year-old driver, who can only analyse yet another disappointing result from his difficult start at Ferrari.

Hamilton, who dropped in sprint qualifying, starts Sunday's race without a podium finish for Ferrari – the biggest gap he has had to the top three this season.
