Former MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin of the Aprilia Racing team, who suffered serious injuries during testing in Malaysia last year, crashed while celebrating his victory at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas (USA), The Sun reports.
VIDEO OF THE DAY
Having passed Francesco Bagna on Ducati on the last lap and won his first race of the 2024 season, the 28-year-old Martin decided to spectacularly race at a speed of about 160 km/h on the rear wheel. But something went wrong, and the rider, having barely touched the track with his front wheel, lost control of the motorcycle and flew onto the asphalt. Despite the fact that the Spaniard rode a decent lap around the track, he seems to have managed to avoid serious injuries.
