Roz Chast’s “Bird Bath”

Roz Chast chose to portray a chicken in a bath for the January 29, 2024, cover for a very simple reason: she likes birds. She also happens to be quite a fan of baths. “A hot bath is a small luxury you can give to yourself on a cold and nasty day,” Chast said. “It is even better if you are near a window where you can look out at the nastiness and think, Ha-ha, here I am in a hot bath.”
