When spring melts away and the heat rises, many wise New Yorkers rush to find an open space. For the cover of the June 3, 2024, issue, Sergio García Sánchez depicts the pleasures of zipping along the East River and taking in the Manhattan skyline at a glance. “For this geometric drawing, I used mostly lines that form forty-five-degree and ninety-degree angles, to give a sense of the kinetic, Op-art vibe of life in the big city,” García Sánchez said.
