Sometimes we complain about fate, about circumstances, and blame other people for doing something wrong.
Losses and failures can sometimes seem like a real tragedy to us. Everything is lost, the reference point is lost, and we have to rebuild reality brick by brick from scratch.
Sometimes it's not so tragic. However, anger and indignation appear: why didn't it work out right now, why didn't it work out for me?
But later, weeks, months, or even years later, we thank Fate, God, the Universe. Back then, we had no idea that this loss or failure would be the beginning. That a special chain of events would be built that would lead us to a new result, take us to another level.
Therefore, if it seems that failures have won and everything is falling apart, don't look at life so critically. Perhaps something new and beautiful is in a hurry to enter it.
There are various parables about how everything turns out for the better in the end. Today I will tell you a similar story. I composed this parable based on a story I read a long time ago. Personally, it inspires me very much.
The merchants were sailing on a ship. The ship got into a severe storm.
A big hole appeared in the ship, and it began to flood. People rushed to the boats, but there were not enough boats. One merchant did not have enough boats.
The ship was already sinking. There was nowhere to go – the merchant simply jumped into the sea. He tried to stay afloat, the current carried him away from the half-sunken ship. The merchant caught hold of a large empty wooden chest, which helped him not to drown.
He watched in horror as the whirlpool swirled the boats with the people. They never appeared on the surface again.
So, holding on to the chest, he drifted through the sea. Suddenly he saw land – it was an island.
The island was rocky, deserted, with almost no vegetation. The only salvation was a few dead trees. The merchant had neither an axe nor any other tool. He broke off a few branches from these trees, somehow attached large sticks, and assembled a real hut.
This hut helped him hide from the heavy rain.
The merchant thought that a light flashed in the distance. Despite the powerful stream of water pouring from the sky, he ran outside. But he could not see any people or ships in the darkness. It seemed like a dream…
He cursed himself for having come out into the rain, and started back to the hut. But suddenly he saw lightning strike him. If he hadn't run out, he would have died on the spot.
The rain was ending, but the hut started to burn. The merchant tried to put it out, but it didn't change anything.
In the light of the morning dawn, the hut burned down. The merchant sat and cried. Now he can't even hide from the rain, he has nothing at all.
Suddenly he noticed a ship, the vessel heading towards him.
“We were sailing nearby and saw a column of smoke. We immediately understood that it was a signal, someone asking for help. That's how I understood that there were people on the island,” the captain told him when the ship docked at the shore.
