Microsoft Halts Production of Xbox One X, One S Digital Edition Prior to Series X Launch

As Microsoft is planning to launch its Series X console later this year, speculations are circulating that the company will unveil a cheaper and less powerful version of its new-gen console in the nearest future.

Microsoft has officially halted production of its Xbox One X and Xbox One S All-Digital Edition consoles ahead of the launch of its Series X that is scheduled to hit the shelves at the end of the year, The Verge outlet has reported.

Reports of Xbox One X and Xbox One S shortages have surfaced in recent weeks, as demand for Microsoft’s and Sony’s current-gen console has increased amid the coronavirus pandemic.

As the production of the two consoles is being halted, people can still find and purchase them from stocks available at retailers.

Microsoft introduced the Xbox One X back in November 2017, while the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, which doesn’t have a hard disk, was launched in April 2019.
