On Tuesday, March 31, the Ukrainian youth football team (U21), which after a draw with Lithuania (1:1) significantly worsened its chances of exiting the group, will play a qualifying match for the 2027 European Championship against the Hungarian team at the MTK Stadium in Budapest (referee – Jakob Zemler from Austria).
VIDEO OF THE DAY
In previous years, the Ukrainian and Hungarian youth teams have met three times. And while in the first two matches Ukraine was stronger than its opponent — 4:0 in 1993 and 3:1 in 1998, in the current qualifying cycle the geographical neighbors played a draw in 2025 — 3:3.
In the upcoming match, bookmakers see the Hungarian national team as the favorite. For example, the GGBet office accepts bets on a Hungarian victory with odds of 2.05, a draw — 3.49, and a win for Unai Melhosa's team — 3.38.
The Hungary U21 – Ukraine U21 match will be broadcast live in our country (starting at 5:30 PM ) by the UAF YouTube channel , the MEGOGO media service, and the free MEGOGO Sport TV channel, which broadcasts on T2 and cable networks.

Croatia and Turkey will play in another match in the Euro 2027 qualifying group on March 31.
Unfortunately, the Ukrainian “youth” has so far won only one of five matches in the group. After defeating Lithuania (4:0) and drawing with Hungary (3:3), the “yellow-blue” lost to Croatia (0:1) and Turkey (0:1), and also dropped points in another match with Lithuania (1:1).
Position of the teams in the group: 1. Turkey – 11 points (5 matches); 2. Croatia – 10 (4); 3. Ukraine – 5 (5) ; 4. Hungary – 3 (4); 5. Lithuania – 2 (6).
Recall that the winners of nine groups and the best second-place team will automatically qualify for the final tournament of the European Championship. The eight second-place teams will be determined by the holders of four tickets to Euro 2027 in play-offs.

As is known, the 2027 UEFA Youth Championship will be hosted by four stadiums each in Albania (Tirana, Shkoder, Elbasan, Rogozina) and Serbia (Novi Sad, Loznica, Liskovac, Zajecar), which have automatically qualified for the final round of the competition. The results of the European Championship will determine the participants of the 2028 Olympic Games according to the UEFA quota.
