The map will help optimize the expansion of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

Ukraine has revealed the introduction of an interactive charting tool showcasing appropriate sites for electric car charging points.

This is according to coverage by Delo.ua, referencing “Ukrtransbezpeka”.

The novel instrument is aimed at aiding in the layout of charging infrastructure growth and constitutes a pivotal element in fulfilling the National Action Plan for the advancement of renewable energy sources until 2030.

Why is this mapping required?

The map’s utilization is set to assist in:

  • increasing the presence of charging stations throughout Ukraine;
  • harmonizing the Ukrainian transportation grid with its European counterpart;
  • backing electric vehicle drivers and fostering the adoption of eco-friendly transportation solutions.

“Ukrtransbezpeka” has underlined its backing for developing up-to-date facilities, intended to render Ukraine’s transit framework more user-friendly, pioneering, and secure.

Details displayed on the interactive map

The charting resource was crafted in line with clause 33 of the Operational Strategy for executing the National Renewable Energy Development Plan up to 2030 (Ordinance No. 761-r of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, dated August 13, 2024). It delineates locations exhibiting differing levels of available electrical grid capacity appropriate for the probable establishment of charging installations:

  • Designated in Red – up to 100 kW;
  • Marked in Yellow — 100–500 kW;
  • Indicated in Blue — 500–1000 kW;
  • Rendered in Green – beyond 1000 kW;
  • Represented in Black – regions experiencing military actions where power grid assessment is not possible.
