President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has referred to the appeal by US leader Donald Trump to halt hostilities at the battlefront as a “positive settlement.” Nevertheless, he doubts the concept will garner backing from Kremlin head Vladimir Putin, as reported by The Guardian, referencing AFP and Reuters.

“Trump recommended, ‘Remain in place and begin negotiations.’ I view this as a viable middle ground, yet I question whether Putin will endorse it, a sentiment I conveyed to the [US] president,” stated Zelensky, currently in Norway.

This declaration arose amidst narratives that the Trump-Putin assembly was scrapped because of Russia’s demanding stance to conclude the conflict. However, Russia asserts that arrangements for the conference remain in progress.

It is worth mentioning that, according to press accounts, Ukraine and Europe are devising a 12-stage strategy to cease the conflict. This entails the phased removal of penalties, the repatriation of children, and the stabilization of the front line.
