The Alaska summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is the most disgusting episode in the history of diplomacy, wrote Boris Johnson, a former British prime minister and Trump's friend who helped Ukraine at critical moments at the beginning of a full-scale war, in a column for the Daily Mail.
A month after the Alaska summit, Putin once again evaded US sanctions, and the focus on economic pressure on Russia shifted to Europe. Trump is now demanding that Europeans stop purchasing Russian energy resources and impose high tariffs on China, Western media and a Forbes Ukraine interlocutor in diplomatic circles reported.
