Should a woman know how much her husband earns?

In the modern world, financial issues in the family often become a source of conflicts and misunderstandings. The question of whether a wife should know the exact amount of her husband's earnings is especially acute, Ukr.Media reports.

Based on my own experience of family life, I want to share my thoughts on this issue.

If you have a normal relationship with your husband, he won't hide this information from you.

Is it normal for a husband to hide money from his wife? Yes, but only if he is saving it for some event, maybe a gift for you, something you have wanted for a long time.

In this case, it makes sense to hide it, but in other cases it is better not to do so, so as not to cause misunderstandings. If you are dating a man and he is not your husband or fiancé, why do you need to know about his income?

I have a wife, she doesn't work, she has a hobby and she doesn't know how much I earn. And what's the point of her knowing how much I earn, she knows how much she can spend, she's more focused on that.

She doesn't care how much I get paid, she cares how much I can spend. She knows that the money I have that she hasn't spent will be saved up for her to spend later.

How does my wife do it? She asks me: “Can we buy this? If so, within what limits, how much should we expect?”

If we go somewhere, my wife chooses a hotel, she always asks me: “Is this hotel affordable for us? Can we afford it?”.

Let's say you get a paycheck and you know the exact amount. What does this information tell you? How can you relate the things you can afford to the money he makes?

Better ask him “can you afford it?” Well, cool, simple question. My family is patriarchal and I feel good.

When a woman and a man clearly divide their responsibilities in a family and fulfill them together, such questions do not arise.

If a man doesn't want to advertise how much he earns, there's no need to question him.
