According to HUR sources on Wednesday, a large fire broke out on a section of Transneft's main oil pipeline. Local residents report that emergency services are working to clean up the effects of the explosion and fire in the area of Bozhatkovo, near Ryazan.

Since 2018, the pipeline has been pumping automotive gasoline, including for the needs of the Russian military. According to HUR, the incident resulted in the indefinite suspension of petroleum product shipments to Moscow.

In August, Ukrainian forces actively attacked fuel infrastructure in Russia. Following Ukrainian drone attacks, work was suspended at refineries in Saratov and Ryazan, among others. (PAP)
