Shelbourne will be favoured to take on Linfield in the Conference League play-off second leg after a 3-1 win.
Harry Wood's penalty and second-half goals from Mipo Odubeko and Evan Caffrey gave Joey O'Brien's side the lead at Tolka Park.
Odubeko missed a penalty in the first half and Linfield finished the game with ten men after Matt Fitzpatrick was sent off.
